Here are some local farmers markets that we recommend attending in Ontario:
Georgetown Farmers’ Market
The Georgetown Farmers’ Market begins this year on June 2nd and will run every Saturday morning until October 15 in Downtown Georgetown on Main Street. This year marks the 25th year of the farmers’ market in Georgetown.
There is a lot to enjoy at the Georgetown market, from fresh fruits and vegetables to fresh produce. Some of the items you can expect to find at this farmer’s market include seasonal fruit and vegetables, honey, syrup, jam, deli meat, hand-made soaps and lotions, flowers and plants.
Along with all of these items, each week the farmers’ market features one talented crafter and local community group from a variety of interests at the market. This is a great place to go and get locally-crafted products. It’s also a great way to meet other people within your community.
Brampton Farmers’ Market
The Downtown Brampton Farmers’ Market has been happening in Downtown Brampton for the last 32 years. It has been operated by the City of Brampton ever since it began. In 2018, the market will run every Saturday morning from mid-June until September 1st.
The Brampton Farmers’ Market is a great place to meet others in your community, as it attracts over 100,000 visitors from local residents to tourists. This market has numerous vendors who sell a variety of local produce, crafts, baked goods, prepared foods, and handmade products.
Inglewood Farmers’ Market
The Inglewood Farmers’ Market began in 2007 and is very well-known in the community and popular with locals from nearby towns like Caledon and Orangeville.This year the Farmers’ Market opens from May 30 until October 3.
Each week at the Inglewood Farmers’ Market you can expect to find dinner on the BBQ, live music, and recipe ideas, plus an array of local fruits, vegetables, meats, honey, and baked goods.
The Inglewood Market is a great place for community gatherings, as well as a fantastic spot to find local foods to sample.
