Caledon Communities Series – Inglewood
There are many communities within Caledon which haven’t been explored by many people within Caledon. The community of Inglewood is one of these hidden communities which have a lot to offer, explore and see. Inglewood is a unique community as there are a general store and railway hotel which have been in this community since the original village plan in 1883. Here is a list of must see things when visiting Inglewood.
Inglewood General Store
Known as a home away from home, serving home-made sandwiches, coffee, cold drinks and local products. Home to the local farmer’s market which happens every Wednesday from June until October. Gorgeous boutique with clothing and jewelry
Caledon Hills Cycling
Known to residents as the local bike shop. Sells equipment from brands they trust and use themselves. If you need help and have questions about any of the products or need a repair on a bike, the team at Caledon Hills Cycling will have the answer for you.
Millcroft Inn and Spa
Stay overnight in this elegant country style main mill and manor house. Amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, country style restaurants with estate views. Enjoy the scenery and relax with spa treatments ranging from facials to full body massages.
Peartree Bed and Breakfast
Enjoy what Caledon has to offer by staying the night in this bed and breakfast. Breakfast is made using fresh, local and organic ingredients. There are rooms to rent; Patricia which is two single beds or the Adeline room which is one queen bed. Regardless of the room you stay in the views are specular.
There are a variety of Caledon trails throughout Inglewood where you can enjoy hiking, cycling, skiing or horseback riding. On popular outdoor trail and location is the Ken Whillans Resource Management Area. Although there is an admission fee to get into the area, there are a variety of activities to do and many things to see including canoeing, paddle boarding, bird watching, fishing piers, cycling and views of the credit river. The Ken Whillans Resource Management Area is open for the majority of the year including the fall season. The views are said to be breathe-taking.
Credit Valley Scenic Rail Tour
This is a year-round rail experience in southern Ontario which offers unique and different views throughout the Ontario Greenbelt each season. Some major attractions you can see along the way include: The Forks of the Credit River, the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park. This is a must thing to do when visiting Inglewood.
Regardless if you are a resident of a neighbouring community of Inglewood or visiting from out of town, this is a great place to visit and explore. This is a perfect community to see especially if you love the outdoors as there are various sights to explore and enjoy various outdoor activities with.
